Is it time?

Let's call it.  It's time.  It's officially our summer.  We've recently begun hitting 90 plus degrees & have cranked the air conditioner up.

Here's a rundown of how we've spent our first four days of "Summer".

We began our journey at a Celebration of Life... it was fabulous.  Full of dance routines & green balloons, fond memories, & love. Lots & lots of love.

We've spent two full days on our bikes, riding twenty miles each time.  Looking through the trees at gorgeous houses & the river... stopping for refreshing drinks & diaper changes... racing our friends & trailering B.

We've walked, run through a sprinkler (just once, cause B wasn't a huge fan of the cold water), we've sidewalk chalked & walked to the grocery store...

We've escaped to our local bookstore to bask in books, toys & air conditioning.

We've gone to lunch with friends... 3 times! Enjoyed catching up with an old friend & learning about a new friend...  Tried new restaurants & stopped in our favorite too.

We've been to the park with friends & moved the party to a house, when it got too hot... at 10am.

Bubbles have been blown, Cozy Coupes have been driven, & grill outs with friends & beer have happened.

...on the menu for tonight? A bike ride, more grilling, & a bright white, new pad of paper with sharp, jumbo crayons.

And this weekend? Oh, get ready... the zoo, baseball, boating & a movie date... can't wait!

my list of things to do today.

the weekend is fast approaching, which for me brings a fun get together with friends, a visit from the in-laws, a rockin new outfit to wear, & plenty more.  all of this requires a day of preparation... well most of this anyway. there's not much to prepare for the in-laws, short of cleaning the bathrooms (which would be done regardless) & washing the sheets that tucker lays on all the time.  I guess the outfit is already ready, but I do need to get a jacket for it, since mother nature decided to laugh in our faces & take away the 80 degree sun & replace it with 55 degrees, just for Saturday's party. rock on mother nature.

so anyway, here's my list:

target- pick up a cute jacket (if it's meant to be mine, they'll have my size), leggings & a few odds & ends (that yo-baby yogurt is so much cheaper at target!)

trader joe's- fruit, fruit & more fruit.  guess what i'm taking tomorrow? that's right... fruit! i'm making a fruit tray, cause you can't just order organic fruit trays.

whole foods? - maybe tomorrow morning though. need meat. in our house.

wrapping gifts for tomorrow's party

another meeting with a university admissions counselor. i'll learn from my last visit & not post the link, as they knew all about my blog when i showed up. i was definitely taken aback by that, so i'd like to not do that again.

wash diapers.

vacuum, laundry, dust, dishes... you know, the same as every day. along with walking the dog, feeding the babe, changing diapers, etc., etc., etc.

chat with a great friend.

hug & kiss my husband & my son. those are always on the list.

...seems like enough, right? i'm sure i'll add plenty more in there, but for now, i'm off to make breakfast & get ahead on those hugs & kisses.

Wordless Wednesday: A Week in Review

Post Summary (cause I'm not very 'wordless'): We had an Easter egg hunt, went to the beach, ate Mongolian Grill, had lunchtime beer, went to the park, dyed Easter eggs, dyed our feet Shrek green, had another Easter egg hunt & made dogs kiss. What... a week.

Oh and also,
Baby D's packages, headed to the FedEx truck.

Meet my Talented Friends

I know a few of you have been anxiously awaiting this post.  Well, the wait is over!

I have a few (well, more than a few, but only a few in this post!) very talented friends who, since B was born, have knitted him a few things.  I can crochet, sort of, but I can't knit.  It's on my list of Someday To Dos- learning to knit, that is.  Anyway, I thought I'd showcase my talented friends a little bit.

Here goes!

B received this in the mail a few weeks (I think) after he was born... This is a very long overdue thank you to Ms. JZ (no, not Beyonce), who is sure to be knitting a few for Baby Z's arrival!

(It catches all the water that misses B's mouth very well!)

Next up- an adorable, super warm hat from Miss Shannon- it matches B's winter coat & keeps his ears warm!  We get compliments every time he wears it!

And lastly, just received in the mail this week! An awesome pair of longies from my fellow Cookie, fellow blogger, & fellow tweeter, Leesh! They're cozy & fit him perfect! We love them!

(check out those cuff details!)

Not up to his armpits!
(never mind that he's playing with my Cookie Lee essential medium silver hoops, page 5, only $16!- how's that shameless plug?)

So, to all my lovely & talented friends, a BIG, GIANT, ENORMOUS THANK YOU is in order!

Stand Up Redo

Small post related to my last entry...

I feel bad now, cause my good friend said she felt bad for giving B some puffs one day when we were together! Oh no, don't feel bad! That was not my intent!

I want to say that my previous post is meant to be more about standing up for your child & yourself for anything you believe in, rather than specifically a food issue.  I was just using the food issue because that's what's currently on my mind & currently an issue with others.  I tend to be submissive about telling others to stop something or to not do something, & that is what I want to change (along with some of my eating/buying habits).

So to recap, it doesn't matter if I say I think Gerber puffs are crap & you don't agree.  What matters is that whatever you think is crap, you stand up for that!
