What I should be doing -
taking a shower to clean the chlorine from swim lessons off of me
cleaning the kitchen - putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, etc
washing the wet swim clothes, towels from swim lessons
folding the clean laundry that's surrounding me right now & then, of course, putting it away
kicking my dog off of the bed since he's technically not allowed on it
packing for our mini- vaca tomorrow
cleaning the bath toys, because b decided poo'ing in the tub would be more fun than not
eating something, since b ate my dinner tonight (at least he wanted to eat, right?)
working on interview questions for my next assignment
blogging about something important- world peace perhaps?
What I am doing-
lying (laying? i never know) on my bed, snuggled next to my sleeping dog, reeking of chlorine while the clean laundry stares me down (there's eyes in there somewhere, i just know it) & the dirty dishes taunt me from all the way downstairs. & recording it here, on this blog, for posterity.
What ... a winner.

28 Days of Blogging
Lately I've been thinking about how to get into my writing a little bit more. I really do enjoy writing, but most of it takes place with pen & paper. There's definitely something about the crispy white pages of a new notebook & the smooth ink of a great pen. There's also definitely something about a full notebook, scribbled on pages, filled with a rainbow of colored pens ... something just feels right about it. But, as someone who has 3 blogs & is a contributor to a 4th, I realize that pen & paper is just not the wave of the future. Because of this, I'm setting a goal for myself ... & for you, if you'd like to join in.
introducing ... 28 Days of Blogging!
This is perfect timing, since February is the shortest month of the year. I'm setting the goal to blog every single day of the next month, even if it's just a simple sentence or two... or even a picture. As long as I'm spending a few moments minimum on my own blog, I'll be proud.
Well, what do you think? Who's in? Let me know!

A Mish Mosh of thoughts
It's a quiet day here... Resulting in a post full of random thoughts...
Winter is still in force, kicking our butts and freezing us out. B's response was "stay home" when I asked him what he wanted to do this morning. When checking my phone (which may or may not be correct) I shivered as I read- 3 degrees f. Brrr...
I'm taking down the rest of the Christmas/ Winter decorations... You know Valentine's Day is one month from tomorrow? What other excuse do I have to use pink around the house? This will result in a post-nap trip to Michaels to see what I can find.
Tomorrow night we have a birthday outing ... A friend who is turning 26 and said "that's like 30!" ... Well, thanks for aging me, dear friend! Regardless, I'm excited for an excuse to dress up and go out with my wonderful husband.
After reading the current post at one of my favorite blogs (www.kellehampton.com), I went ahead and snagged the second version of Sweet Nella Charm Bangle. 50% of proceeds go to Nella's ONEder Fund. I was already wanting to donate something and I love any excuse to support small business. Check it out and score a cute bracelet while supporting a fantastic cause.
I'm actually blogging on our iPad so I'm interested to see how this turns out. The hubs takes my MacBook to the office everyday so my computer time is severely limited, hence the lack of regular posts. And pictures.
I started watching 'The Good Wife'. What a phenomenal show. I can't believe I waited this long! And everyone is on it! I'm so addicted, I've watched 8 episodes in two days... That's a lot considering I don't watch when B is awake.

Reading Rainbow
In the past couple of years, I've made a goal for reading throughout the year. Honestly, I love to read, but with a little around, sometimes it's hard to do. In 2008 & 2009, my goal was 50 books in a year. I didn't succeed in 2009, so for 2010, I dropped it down to 25. Unfortunately, I didn't do a proper job of keeping track, so I'm not sure if I succeeded.
This year, I'm keeping the goal at 25 & I'm going to keep track on here, so hopefully I'll stick with it. I finished my first book today & so begins the list.
I've also found that having a Nook has successfully upped my ability to read with B around. Because I can hold it one handed & turn the page with the click of a button, rather than stumbly one handed fingers turning while holding... trying not to drop it on his head while we're snuggling.
I'm excited for the next 24 books & would love to hear any recommendations!
1. House Rules - Jodi Picoult

2 is Crazy
today is b's birthday. he's 2 years old. how crazy is that? i'll tell you, it's completely crazy. and he had a crazy party. crazy fun... but still. crazy.
(i think) he had an absolute blast. like maybe the most fun he's ever had in his short life, that is becoming longer everyday. and those days are going faster. crazy fast.
i can't wait for more though. now who's crazy?
real recap coming later this week, complete with pictures :)
